Tough Stuff

In the book Chicken Soup For The Teenage Soul, there was a question which goes like this:

Write here what advice you would give to someone who is feeling suicidal.

This was what I wrote:

"Don't get fooled by anything negative. Problems and trials in life have a way of making it seem like it's all much harder than it is. Don't even be ashamed to feel like you have thought of suicide. You won't believe how many people have actually thought of ending their life at one phase or another but managed to brush off the thought off their mind. We all falter. We all fail sometimes.

Once you give in to problems, you are almost doomed unless you decide to rise from challenges. Each time you rise, you are nurturing the strength inside of you. You may be surprise. Speaking from experience, most of the time you are much stronger than you think you are.

You think you are suffering? Well, guess what, millions of people feel the same way from all sorts of different reasons. You can't find a reason why and you feel like there's no way out. Millions of people out there struggle to make it through their days.

I am not going to say, if they can survive, why can't you?

All I want to ask is, if everyone decide to commit suicide because of suffering, what is the point of strength, will and endurance? Where is your sense of worth then?"

I know this is a pretty heavy emotional post but I believe it's important for you and for me to know that we all matter.
